3d animation

i am curious about 3d animation. i think if i can bring the things in my head to life itd be very fulfilling. so naturally having an enthusiasm in art id like to persue a way to do that and 3d animation seems the key. i want to make my own 3d movies and probably end up going to game design since im a fan of them but i really just want to make my own movies. so any advice on schools or info i need to know b4 picking one?
